Inca Journey: Machu Picchu
TREKKING SALKANTAY + SACRED VALLEY + LOCAL EXPERIENCES
August 22nd to 31st 10 days and 9 nightsCUSCO, SACRED VALLEY AND MACHUPICCHU VIA SALKANTAY:
The Salkantay Trail is, without a doubt, the best hike to reach the lost Inca citadel, Machu Picchu.
The 5-day trek offers a surreal landscape through snow-capped mountains, glacial lagoons, waterfalls, valleys, and the Andean mountain range. Therefore, this trek is considered by many tourists to be the "most tranquil trail" in Peru, because in addition to the almost untouched nature, the number of tourists compared to the Inca Trail is much lower, making the experience of reaching Machu Picchu the most beautiful and immersive.

Arrival in Cusco
When your flight arrives in Cusco, our team will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
The city of Cusco is nestled in the Andes Mountains, at an altitude of 3,400 meters above sea level. Therefore, a welcome tea made with coca leaves will be served at the hotel, suggested to alleviate the effects of altitude sickness.
Our team will give you practical tips and sightseeing ideas in the city, as well as important information about the altitude and how to adapt to the climate.
We recommend that you stay at the hotel throughout the day, rest, and only go for short walks a few hours later.
Open yourself up and allow yourself to feel all the energy of the sacred valley.
Cusco vs. Sacred Valley
It's time to wake up early, as our team will pick you up from your hotel around 6:00 AM. After all, visiting Peru is a dream, and we're going to enjoy it to the fullest! The Sacred Valley is formed by several rivers, the main one being the Urubamba. The land is rich and produces the best corn in Peru.

Next, we will take a three-hour hike from the archaeological complex to the village of Pisac, following an Inca trail surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Upon arrival, we will visit a traditional bakery where we will enjoy delicious freshly baked empanadas.
Afterwards, we will travel to the village of Urubamba to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant that offers the best of regional cuisine.
After lunch, we will head to the charming village of Ollantaytambo, where we will explore the impressive archaeological site. We will finish with a walk through the main square and up Pinkuylluna hill, an experience of approximately an hour and a half that will allow us to admire the views and learn more about the local culture.

Afterwards, we will visit the San Pedro market, a space that exudes culture, full of colors, flavors, and tradition, where you can experience authentic local life.
After a wonderful lunch, we will visit the impressive archaeological site of Sacsayhuamán, one of the greatest examples of Inca architecture. Immediately afterwards, we will take a 2-kilometer hike from Llaullipata to Ñustapaccana, enjoying the unique landscapes of the region.
To end the day perfectly, let's have a wonderful picnic in the Q'enqo forest, surrounded by nature, with a surreal panoramic view of the city.
